Pele Hansen was born in Qaqortoq and still lives there today, but grew up in the small village of Saarloq. He always wanted to be a guide, because he loves talking to people and meeting new faces from different places.
Spending time in nature has always been a big part of his life. Hiking with friends, camping for several days, going hunting, or sailing with family just to get out of the city and breathe fresh air — being outdoors brings peace and joy, whether standing by the sea, walking in the mountains, or sitting around a fire after a long day.
Being in the polar regions is all about slowing down and paying attention. Listen to the icebergs and growlers floating in the ocean. Look at the mountains and the wide, open landscapes. Breathe the cold air and enjoy the quiet moments that nature gives. These places don’t need to be rushed. Just being there, watching and listening, is enough.
