Expedition Coordinator/Quark Academy Trainer
Ali loves the world of polar adventures. Born in Australia, she grew up in various cities throughout the country and fondly remembers her first big adventure: traveling around Australia with her family for 6 months at the age of 9. Her love of travel intensified further when she was fortunate to experience her first around-the-world trip at age 12. These early life experiences shaped her perspective of the importance of family and the privilege of traveling. She revels in the opportunity to share her passion for conservation and sustainability with Quark Expeditions’ guests.
Ali’s professional career in Australia provided further opportunities for travel and to develop her skills in leadership, management, communications and logistics. She has studied international relations at a post-graduate level and speaks Mandarin. She is an avid skier, scuba diver, cyclist and runner who enjoys spending time exploring the outdoors with her husband, nieces and nephews. When not in the Polar Regions, Ali lives on a farm in Tasmania, Australia, taking delight in her renewable energy sources and vegetable garden. Ali volunteers at the local high school as a literacy tutor, but she would also like to improve her Mandarin skills by spending more time in China, as well as and further her international politics education in the dynamic area of Australian-Sino relations.
