Quark Expeditions®, the world’s leading polar expedition company, is announcing the launch of their Portuguese-language polar expedition travel website. Quark’s Portuguese website is complete with itineraries, local information, activities and more to better meet the needs of their diverse, multicultural passengers. The site is also fully responsive, ensuring an optimized experience for tablet and mobile visitors.
Quark’s international web traffic and bookings have increased significantly in the last year, with travelers expressing a need for native-language travel planning information. The company’s website traffic from Brazil has grown exponentially since last year, alongside a 35% increase in traffic from Portugal. Quark Expeditions® also has a large Brazilian following representing approximately 11% of their total engaged audience on Facebook.
“Our customers come from all over the world and we’re committed to keeping pace with their needs,” said Quark Expeditions® president, Hans Lagerweij. “We plan to continue expanding our website offerings to ensure our global passengers have a natively-translated online information hub. It’s one of the ways we’ll continue to grow our business around the world.”
Quark Expeditions® attracts customers from 52 countries, with voyages primarily operating in English. They offer select departures with French, German and other multilingual tour guides on board, based on group needs. Quark’s website is now offered in English, French and Spanish, and Portuguese. Quark Expeditions® plans to continue adding Portuguese content to the site throughout 2014/15.
“Arctic and Antarctic travelers do a lot of research before they travel and typically want to learn as much as possible about the areas they’ll visit,” Lagerweij said. “We are committed to offering any and all content people need to help them prepare for and enjoy their polar expeditions.”
