About Sarah Norbury
Sarah is a linguist and elite sailor from Great Britain. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Languages from Portsmouth University, where she majored in French, Chinese and Spanish, focusing on the art of communication, interpreting and translation. Growing up in the landlocked Midlands, Sarah started sailing at age 7 and quickly progressed to sailing on the sea regularly in national and international competitions. She combined her sailing with her studies throughout high school and university, and to date she is a 4-time national champion, with U19 World and European bronze medals.
Throughout university, Sarah sailed for the British Sailing Team’s Olympic Development Squad and competed at the Olympic-class level with the very best in her sport. Sarah is also a passionate explorer and is dedicated to her study of language and culture, living in both Europe and China during her studies. Over the years, Sarah has become fascinated with the sea and the extreme outdoors and enjoys coaching and instructing sailing, hiking, climbing, surfing and sharing her passion with others.
