About Edgar Chang
Mandarin Expedition Guide
Edgar was born and raised in Taiwan. He is passionate about outdoor activities and developed a love for mountaineering and climbing after joining an alpine club while at university in 2000.
He moved to Canada in 2008, where he earned an adventure guide diploma from Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia, fulfilling his dream of becoming a professional adventure guide. After graduated from TRU, he founded Adventure Taiwan in 2012. This organization is a professional guiding and instructing company and a national Mountain Guide Certifier for Taiwan.
Edgar currently works as a professional mountain guide in Taiwan. He summited the highest peaks in North and South America (Denali and Aconcagua.) When he is not working with Quark, he spends most of his time working as an adventure guide in Asia, specializing in mountaineering, canyoning and rock climbing. He also teaches outdoor skills at National Taiwan Sport University.
He is fluent in Mandarin and English and has worked as a mandarin guide and expedition guide since 2019. He still remembers the moment he first crossed the Antarctic Circle and cannot wait to guide you on your Antarctic adventure.
