Though she hails from a rainforest, Allie is always on the move — no moss grows on her! Growing up in British Columbia’s Pacific Northwest, Allie developed a strong affinity for the wilderness. A passion for seeking new horizons fueled her exploration of every continent, with a particular inclination toward the oceans and sunnier climates. Throughout, her journey to answer the age-old question “What do I want to be when I grow up?” has led her down diverse paths, including studying fashion design, helicopter flying, and welding and metal fabrication. Her career experiences are equally varied, ranging from yoga and photography studios to remote fishing and tree-planting camps. When not guiding, Allie turns to mountain biking and crafting — her favorite ways to achieve a state of flow.
Kayak guiding has been the constant thread through Allie’s adventures, and she’s happiest when on the water. For over a decade, she’s had the privilege of leading multi-day sea kayak expeditions along the remote coastline of B.C. These days, she has traded her tent for drier cabins aboard ships, exploring diverse regions including the polar areas, the Kimberley, and Central America. Now living in New Zealand, she’s embraced the beauty of the South Island in a futile attempt to balance the ratio of humans to sheep.
Passionate about sharing the awe and wonder of the natural world with her guests, she thrives on outdoor adventures that offer both thrill and serenity. Through self-propelled activities, she enjoys fostering a profound appreciation for the wild places we share.
