Becs Dryland

Expedition Guide, Quark Academy Trainer, Sea Kayak Guide

Becs is an outdoor educator with a passion for adventure and helping others discover and develop. She has spent many years working in the New Zealand wilderness, leading and training aspiring outdoor instructors in various pursuits and outdoor skills. She is also a Registered Nurse and Wilderness First Aid instructor.

Becs loves running, and has spent many years in the hills and participating in local trail running events. One of Becs’ greatest challenges was running the entire length of NZ (2200 km) with her sister Ang. Not only did they share a great adventure, but they also raised awareness of roadside rubbish.

Becs lives with her daughter Moana-Rose, their dog Bess, a few sheep and their goat, Goaty McGoat Face. They reside in Hokitika, on the west coast of New Zealand’s South Island.

She feels privileged to have had the opportunity to work, paddle and explore in the wild and remote Polar Regions with Quark Expeditions since 2012.
