Kristopher Andres is a photographer, storyteller and adventure guide based in Banff, Alberta. Known for his ethereal images of remote and untamed landscapes, Kris loves seeking out the farthest corners of the planet to document the raw beauty of ice, mountains, and the human spirit. He is always up for endless adventures with a big smile — no matter how “atmospheric” the conditions may be. Fueled by chocolate and a relentless passion for exploration, Kris will be overly excited in almost everything he does in life, especially when sharing adventures with friends. His advice to first time polar travelers: “Embrace the unknown. The greatest experiences — and photographs — are born in the moments when you surrender to the adventure.” Kris loves watching polar guests experience the natural wonders of the wild — the silent awe, the laughter, and the way even the coldest places can warm the heart. When not exploring the polar regions or guiding photography trips around the world, Kris can be found spending time climbing mountains, trekking and camping with his partner and his dog, cooking and baking, crafting visual stories through photos and videos, and practicing yoga.
