A former military member, Sharon moved from an instructional and operational role to a career in the outdoor industry in New Zealand, where she was born and which she proudly calls home.
For the past 13 years, she has been an instructor and outdoor educator in New Zealand and overseas. She teaches a range of skills, including rock climbing and bushcraft/hiking, skills to up-and-coming instructors.
Having always been intrigued with working at the North Poles and South Pole, Sharon is looking forward to her third Arctic season with Quark Expeditions as a sea Kayak Guide and Naturalist. As part of adventuring and exploring wild and interesting locations, she will hopefully have completed a crossing of Iceland by hiking and packcraft before her 2017 season starts.
She has also worked at Outward Bound in New Zealand and for the New Zealand police. In her spare time, she can be found planning her next adventure somewhere around the world while hanging out with her German shepherd and exploring around home.
