About Gilda Fuentes
Guest Services Manager
Gilda was born in Argentina and has always wanted to travel the world. Now she spends her time in the antipodes of the world, spreading the word that traveling makes you a better person. Her first job in a youth hostel in 1999 was the kick-start of an enriching professional life that has had her helping people from all over the world, while working in many incredible places.
Gilda has worked as tour leader in South America, a hotel receptionist, a guest services manager, a waitress, a tour manager with a wine tour company, an operations manager of boutique hotels, a hotel manager on a ship and even as a teacher. Above all, she has been blessed by those she has met throughout her life's journey.
Gilda holds a Master's degree in tourism and hotel management completed in Barcelona, and is fluent in English and Portuguese. She continues to discover the world and to help others explore it. She started her sailing life in 2013 in Antarctica and now she spends half the year working aboard ships and the other half at home in Mendoza, where she practices yoga and enjoys spending time with her two dogs.
Seeing Antarctica for the first time changed Gilda's life, all this beauty deeply touched her soul. She hopes all polar guests are transformed in any positive way after exploring these mesmerizing places.
