About Jessica Day
Sea Kayak Guide
Jess currently resides on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia, Canada. When she is not working in the Polar Regions, Jess might be found visiting friends and family around the world, traveling, paddling, hiking, or snowboarding just about anywhere you can imagine. At home, she loves working on one of Salt Springs’s organic farms or participating in local salmon enhancement initiatives.
Jess is a veteran paddle guide with Quark, who loves watching polar guests glide across the water in kayaks. She treasures the precious moments where guests are quiet, awestruck, smiling, and totally in the present during their paddling adventures. When asked, Jess would be hard-pressed to choose a single most memorable polar experience, however epic sunrises and sunsets, and encounters with curious and charismatic megafauna definitely top the list. On more than one occasion Jess and her fellow Quark colleagues have been moved to tears by such encounters. When your guides cannot hold back tears, you know it is a special moment!
