About Mark Scriver
Sea Kayak Guide
Mark started his teaching career at an outdoor center in Ontario, Canada in the early 1980’s and has since guided many multi-day wilderness canoe, kayak and hiking trips in the Canadian Arctic and Greenland. His skills on the water gained Mark membership of the Canadian whitewater freestyle team for several years in the 1990's. Although he has taught whitewater paddling extensively, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) is another interest.
Whether in Canada or in the Polar Regions, Mark is most passionate about sea kayaking, “It’s the perfect craft for the varied conditions you can experience on the sea. You can explore intricate rocky coastlines, glide silently with sea birds and marine mammals, push through brash ice, be humbled by glaciers and icebergs or be carried effortlessly on a following sea. Every day on the sea you see cool things, but I love sharing with guests the magical moments that can happen anytime.”
