About Nigel Redman
Ornithology Presenter
Nigel is a lifelong birder and an experienced tour leader and bird guide. Over nearly four decades, he has led approximately 150 bird tours and has traveled to some ninety countries on all seven continents. Nigel first visited the Polar Regions in 1996 and, as an expedition guide, he has returned to the Antarctic and Arctic on numerous occasions since then. His other passion is birding in the tropics and he has led many bird tours in these regions throughout the world, especially to Africa and Asia.
In between these extensive travels, Nigel worked for twenty years as a leading publisher of bird books, retiring as the head of natural history for Bloomsbury Publishing in the UK. He is also the author of numerous articles and three books, including the acclaimed field guide, Birds of the Horn of Africa. At home in Norfolk, England, Nigel enjoys cooking, gardening (strictly edible plants only) and opera.
Nigel has an insatiable appetite for both traveling and birds, and is never happier than when he is helping others to observe birds and learn more about our incredible natural world.
