Rebecca Stirling

Geology & Glaciology Presenter

Rebecca is a professional geoscientist specializing in glacial geology. Her research focuses on surficial geology, glacial geomorphology and geochemistry.  As a lover of diverse landscapes, she started her career in the temperate rainforests of coastal British Columbia (BC) and Haida Gwaii, explored the gold fields of BC, diamond fields in the Northwest Territories, and critical mineral potential areas in Labrador.

For any person curious about our natural world, Rebecca is delighted to share her knowledge to help enrich an understanding of the natural world.  This passion led her to deliver earth science and expedition-leadership field school courses for several Canadian Universities and give technical talks and award winning speeches across Canada. In addition to the polar regions, she guided guests among rare ecosystems in the Great Bear Rainforest, glaciers and fjords of Alaska, and the Pacific waters of Central America and BC’s Salish Sea.

Share your rock photos and sense of wonder for the breathtaking polar regions with Rebecca!
