About Tim Neill

Mountain Safety Guide

Tim has lived mostly in Snowdonia, North Wales in the UK since moving there to take a degree in Environmental Studies in the late ‘80s, as well as periodically in the Chamonix valley in the French Alps.

He works as a freelance IFMGA Mountain Guide following the seasons to guide in the European Alps, Scottish winter mountains, particularly Ben Nevis, and the many varied rock faces in North West Wales.

Tim has also been lucky to visit many worldwide mountain ranges and great climbing areas with highlights being Cordillera Blanca in Peru, Argentine Patagonia, Alaska, South Greenland, many of the big walls in the western US, and extensively in the European Alps including the 6 Great North Faces made famous by the French alpinist Gaston Rebuffat.

In addition to being a keen rock and ice climber, alpinist, and general mountain person Tim’s a keen photographer and naturalist enjoying being in wild places whether up high or on the coastal fringes.

He particularly enjoys sharing adventures with guests where the next step or view around the corner is unknown for all involved.
