About Jane Whitney
Sea Kayak Guide
Jane Whitney’s passion for adventure and wild places has led her to become a seasoned wilderness leader. As a certified professional Sea Kayak and Hiking guide, Jane has been guiding self-propelled wilderness expeditions in the High Arctic, Haida Gwaii, and Patagonia since the early 90’s.
She joined Quark’s guiding team in Antarctica in 2019. Her goal is to make you feel comfortable in the wilderness and inspired by the places you visit. Jane has an incredible array of stories from her decades of work, from leading a group of women on a ski traverse across Baffin Island, to riding her bike across the Tibetan plateau, to paddling the remote coast of southern Chile.
She has called the Canadian Rockies home for over 30 years and works in the avalanche safety industry when she is not working with Quark. Jane is fun to be with and has been lauded by many as a superb naturalist. She is excited to return to the Polar Regions and to show you a trip of a lifetime!
