Richard Angelidis

I am a passionate global traveler, always looking for the off-the-beaten-path experience. During my 15-plus years with Quark Expeditions, I’ve had the privilege of enjoying so many adventures, including: traveling aboard the iconic nuclear-powered icebreaker 50 Years of Victory to reach the North Pole; camping at the Barneo Base Camp in the frozen Arctic Ocean near the North Pole; joining an expedition around Spitsbergen in the Norwegian Arctic archipelago of Svalbard; kayaking in West Greenland and Baffin Island; visiting Iceland; traveling in beautiful South Greenland; camping at Arctic Watch, a remote base camp where beluga whales migrate along the Northwest Passage; exploring the Antarctic Peninsula; and, for a second time, I had the privilege of crossing the Antarctic Circle. But the pinnacle of my polar travel has been sailing on the legendary Kapitan Khlebnikov to visit the remote Antarctic emperor penguin colony at Snow Hill Island in 2018.
